Description
Lexic—a word game so remarkably addictive, it took one year to build, test, and polish.
Why so long? Because we wanted to make the finest word game on the App Store. After perfecting one of the smoothest gameplay mechanics on the planet, we developed four uniquely challenging game modes around it.
No kidding. Over the course of a year, we at Kieffer Bros. have built and refined four utterly addictive word games into Lexic.
Foremost, there's Quest. Quest is nothing short of an adventure. Trace words, collect gold letter tiles, rack up points, and advance to levels of ever-increasing lexical intensity.
On your journey you'll have to disarm bomb tiles, eradicate virus tiles, unfasten lock tiles, and try to predict the whims of constantly changing letter-switch tiles—all in a spellbinding effort to amass your precious gold.
Second in this voluminous word game is Blackout. You have one goal—craft words to clear the screen and advance to the next round. No specialty tiles here, but it takes just as much word-crafting know-how to stay alive.
The last two games packed into Lexic are Cascade and Stasis. Rack up as many points as you can in a continuous stream of letter tiles or on a frozen grid. With these two, it's a race against the clock!
And if four amazing game modes isn't enough, we tossed in 21 extra bonus missions—each unlocking either a gorgeously designed tile set, a pixel-perfect game frame, or a special ability. With 20 unique tile sets and nine game frames, you can customize Lexic's graphics to fit your mood!
And there's more! Listen to your own music, and vie for fame and glory on our weekly, monthly, and all-time leader boards.
If you want word game variety, beautiful design, and a lexical world all to yourself, Lexic is your word game!
Still not sure? Play through seven full levels of Lexic's most exciting game mode, Quest, in Lexic Lite. It's free and gives you a stunning glimpse into the world of Lexic.

The word game Wurdle was hoping would never appear!
If you have Wurdle, think of it as the opener and Lexic as the headline band! It is that good! The level of polish is unbelievable. The menu is as good a one as I have ever seen. Lexic features a lot of customization options. The game currently has no music, but it does have great sound effects. But for those that would rather do without, you can turn the sound effects off in the menu. Furthermore, you can customize your tiles, as well as unlock new tiles and borders. In addition, you can choose TWL or SOWPODS. For those big into high scores, the game tracks your own progress as well as everyone else's so you can see how you stack up to the rest of the Lexic nation.
Lexic currently has the three different game styles: Stasis, where the tiles never move; Cascade, where new tiles drop from the top when a word is spelled to fill in the recently created void; and Blackout, where tiles above the letters used in a word drop down, but no new tiles drop from the top to replace them. In Stasis and Cascade, words must consist of three or more letters and you have the option of choosing one, two, three or five minute games as well as no time limit. In Blackout, words can consist of two or more letters and there is no time limit. Furthermore, in Blackout, you advance to the next level and continue building on your score only when you complete the board, so planning ahead is the key.
The game features various unlockables that affect gameplay. For example, in Blackout, I unlocked "Black Widow", which unlocks the ability in Blackout mode to triple tap on a tile to have it removed. Using it comes at a cost of 300 points each time and you are limited to 10 uses of the Black Widow per Blackout game. This is how you are able to clear a board if you have not properly planned ahead or there is just no way that TWL will let you make a word out of the two remaining letters, "f" and "n"-- no matter how hard you try. One other feature I appreciate is the ability to see a list of the words I have found while still playing by simply pressing pause.
Kieffer Bros. went all out on this game. Outstanding job! Watch out Wurdle, your replacement has arrived.
Best in class, hands down
This game started out as a pretty alternative to the Wurdles and Quordys of the App Store. But with all the recent enhancements, Lexic stands on its own. Not only is the interface beautiful, but the achievements are a top notch addition.
There are a lot of great word games in the store by now. But if you are strapped for space on your device, Lexic is my number one recommendation in this category. Three distinctive modes, compelling achievements, and amazing interface and attention to detail. I hope more updates are in the works, and I can't wait to see what game these guys come up with next.
Yes its worth the purchase!
Only thing lacking is sound which is promised in the next update. Its like WordsWorth in a way but w/o the bombs, etc. This is a challenging, polished word game that is very fast paced. You can set you own timer from 1 to 5 mins and has a practice mode as well. It has 7 backgrounds to choose from if you like color variety. I really like this game because I can find small or (if I want to spend the time) find bigger words. Comes with a save function too. Nice, clean game and is challenging to play. I have lots of word games but find this one (and WordsWorth) are the best to play for a faster mode game play, imo. If your a word player then I suggest you get this one. Highly recommended. Nice Work Kieffer Bross, LLC.
