iTunes Review
From the updated Philly soul of “No One Will Do” — built around speeded-up O’Jays samples — to the closing takeover of “One,” with Bono and U2 collaborating in the usurping of their anthem, The Breakthrough stands as first-tier Mary J. Blige. As necessary as My Life, Share My World and “Family Affair,” this long-player never slips to the level of ordinariness while making clear once more what Blige has done to make soul music matter for a hip-hop generation. Carrying her ’70s favorites into a new century, proclaiming herself the beneficiary of real real love this time, and assuring the sisterhood that they can still lean on her, she makes some of her most aurally and emotionally sticky music ever. And not that anyone’s seriously questioned her continuing relevance, but it’s worth noting that the marvelous single “Be Without You” topped the R&B chart for 15 consecutive weeks.

Real Feelings or is it Feeling Real.
by ChristinaYammaGucciI just want you to know, that you've always been one of my favorite artist. But this last Album was just simply awesome. Im a 44 year old, single and set in my ways. I just got out of a 18 year relationship. I never thought I would be alone, this late in my life. But your song, "Cant keep a good Woman Down. Just lifts me up, and makes me forget that I am alone.
Just wanna say that I appreciate you and your ability to convery your feelings to your music!!!!!!
Hope I can see one of your cocert tour sometime soon,,
a definitive album
by americansongbirdit is my opinion that every person has those 4 or 5 albums that come along and define a moment in their lives. for some it's jackson's "thriller". for others it's the beatles "white album". for me, it's mary j. blige's "the breakthrough". this album came out when i was really going through a difficult time, and every song-in it's own way-helped me heal. i didn't buy the digital copy, so i can't speak for the extra track "so lady". but what i can tell you is that EVERY TRACK on the physical copy is an absolute gem. this album is one of mary's most personal. it will make you sing, dance, and cry. by the end, you will have a new respect for mary j. blige, not just as a singer/songwriter, but as a person. this album will never leave your ipod! GET IT NOW! the whole album is wonderful, but these are my faves.

I love this album~
by luvergirl10This album is fantastic. everything from the lyrics, the singing, the beats, and the emtions brought this album together. Her voice is amazing, and this was a very big album of 2005, she really topped over these other R&B singers in 2005, Basically like Mariah carey, Keri Hilson and jennifer hudson. this is the best from her, and for 99 cents, its a great deal.
