Album Review
Donna Summer's contribution to the Christmas album market sounds good, courtesy of producer Michael Omartian, but it's about what you'd expect from the combination of Omartian and Summer: nicely produced, bland versions of songs such as "White Christmas," "I'll Be Home for Christmas," and "O Holy Night." Summer gives it a good try, however, and the album does have some appeal, if little forcefulness.

Absolutely Glorious Christmas Album!
by Sampo.This is truly one of my favourite modern Christmas albums. The arrangements and song choices combined with Summer's exquisite and passionate vocals are gorgeous.
Just about every track is a gem, but if you want to sample the album, highlights are the Christmas Medley (What Child Is This/ Do You Hear What I Hear/ Joy to the World) and Christmas Spirit (a song I wasnt familiar with, but has a heart-rendingly beautiful chorus about the saviour of the world that puts Christ in the center of Christmas. Unmissable.)
Its a pleasure to hear such an exceptional vocalist sing with such joy and life. This album is a wonderful Christmas tradition in our home.
A Knockout!
by JonJon1223I'm a huge Donna fan, but I'm not fond of Xmas music. This CD totally changes my opinion! Donna's voice is truly magical singing every one of these songs. I wish I'd hear these on radio stations that opt for holiday music during the season rather than the usual bland ones they play. I'm hoping Donna will eventually make another Xmas CD in the future. If you have a vast Xmas music collection, you MUST add this CD to it.
MASTERPIECE
by mr.christmasThis is the ultimate Christmas album, better than any I have ever heard. It should be a masterpiece although sorely overlooked and difficult to find. From the moment White Christmas begins to the final spoken voice, this album will put you in the holiday spirit. No matter your faith, it will soothe and inspire. What a treat to dim the lights, stare into the Christmas tree, and wonder what Christmas is all about. That voice is spectacular with all its fullness and emotion. This is a relatively serious piece of work with a touch of whimsey on Christmas Is Here. It's difficult to pick a favorite, but Christmas Spirit is an original track while the Christmas Medley is traditional and chilling. Donna gives Amy Grant's Breathe of Heaven new life. If you have this Christmas album you really don't need another. It is simply beautiful. If you are looking for a light, fun Christmas song...check out Rosie Christmas by Donna Summer as well...It's more of a dance Christmas carol.
