Lila is an awesome sensation!
This is the first album I was introduced to by this artist. I was floored after being enchanted by her beautiful voice and unique band. I have to mention her talented harp player Celso Duarte who adds so much to her music. I reccomend to take time to understand the words she is saying to be affected by the integrity of her messages. Not all songs are in Spanish as this singer is very versatile/talented. Her new album does come out on April 4, 2006 and is called La Cantina! I had the chance to see her perform here in Los Angeles at the Walt Disney Concert hall and was very impressed. For this album my favorites are La Bamba, Malinche, La Cucaracha, & Paloma Negra. Definately check out her other albums.

Lila Downs is a wonderful singer and musician. This album is part of her creative journey. A gem!
Haunting and beautiful
Lila downs has one of the most haunting yet beautiful voices. Very distinct in her vocal work and go's back in forth between styles. She truly is one of the best and doesnt get the credit she deserves. I love the traditional mexican folk sound and her smokey voice only makes it better. I think im in love with her lol. If u love music in espanol u will truly love this album.
