Album Review

Another among several hit albums for pianist and composer Bob James during the '70s. The album contained miminal solo space, tightly arranged, cleverly constructed songs with electronic backgrounds and double-tracked backup vocalists, and some orchestrated numbers. It didn't do quite as well as some other James albums, but still managed respectable sales.

Bob James and Rod Temperton team up

This is the album where Bob James and Rod Temperton worked together and created a different but still great Bob James album. The work is tremendous. This shows the versatility of Rod Temperton. For those who don't know Temperton wrote many hits for other artists. Some of the songs are Boggie Nights, The Groove line, Always and Forever, Rock with you, Off the wall, Thriller, Give me the night, Baby come to me. Too many others to mention. Temperton also is a master of arrangements and changes it up somewhat on this great work with James.

I've always loved BJ and have been listening to his music for more than 20 years. This by far is one of his best along with Obsession.

He actually...
