Album Review

The Bobs' Too Many Santas is an uneven but overall charming collection of a cappella Christmas songs. The tracks have a certain wackiness that makes this compilation stand out from the holiday norm. Some are truly funny and charming, like "Fifty Kilowatt Tree" (which owes a debt to Moxy Fruvous), "Rasta Reindeer (Little Saint Nick)," "Christmas in L.A.," and the James Brown-inspired "Santa's Got a Brand New Bag." "Yuleman vs. the Anti-Claus" and "Mrs. Claus Want Some Lovin'" feel a little forced, but Too Many Santas has enough appeal to keep listeners' interest.

Saw this fantastic group in the 90's at Good Company Players in Fresno California and loved every second of it. TOO MANY SANTAS is fantastic, but nothing compared to seeing them live!!! Especially in a day in age where most performers sound absolutely horrible live because they have been manufactured...KUDOS TO THE BOBS~

The Highlights from The Bobs 'Too Many Santas':

‘Mambo, Santa Mambo’ and ‘Rasta Reindeer (Little Saint Nick)’ are great songs for Christmas
if your closer to a Sunny Beach Party, and further away from fields of snow.
Absolutely add these two best songs to your holiday Mix for a warm weather Christmas.

Win over your sweetheart with ‘All I Want for Christmas’, a real heart melter.
Who could resist being told ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’?
Christmas is all about sharing and caring for family, friends, and neighbors,
and this song really hits home.

‘Fifty Kilowatt Tree’ is absolutely hilarious.
If it reminds you of a certain Christmas Vacation, then you already know why the power company spins up the extra generators on Christmas Eve.

‘Santa’s Got a Brand New Bag’ is an important reminder of how traditions play a special role in all our families, fun no matter what our faith! Shalom!

‘Christmas In L.A.’ is sarcastic enough to make you want to move back East! Geeze!

‘Christmas In Jail’ is a very funny reminder to drink responsibly and avoid getting pulled over for a D.U.I. ! Call a Taxi, don’t drink and drive!

And ‘Mrs. Claus Want Some Lovin’’ is strictly for the grown-ups, not for the kids!
Guaranteed to cause a rowdy stir.

Add a few of these songs to your collection to remind you of the fun of the holidays all year long.

The concept is bizarre — four a cappella vocalists who call themselves "bob" and cover rock & roll numbers — yet it somehow works for people, even people in high places; in addition to developing a loyal following, the Bobs received a Grammy nomination for their arrangement of the Beatles'...
