iTunes Review

Korn spawned an entire genre and inspired countless imitators, and nearly 15 years after they first arrived, Untitled proves that they are still the best and boldest of the Nu Metal crop. Their intensity remains unmatched, and their taste in soundscapes is rivaled only by Nine Inch Nails. Perhaps most importantly, they have an unparalleled determination not to repeat themselves. Untitled is the band’s most diverse and adventurous set of songs yet, aided in no small part by Atticus Ross, the British sound programmer who has forged longstanding partnerships with iconoclasts like Barry Adamson and Trent Reznor. Longtime fans who feared that the departure of founding drummer David Silveria would impair the group can rest assured that the acrid, electric sonics of “Killing,” “Innocent Bystander,” and “I Will Protect You” are not only the unique metal sounds of 2007 — they are among the most unique sounds of Korn’s career. The hit singles “Evolution” and “Hold On” owe a debt to younger bands like P.O.D. and Sevendust, but Korn remains the reigning outfit of their genre.

Great Album!...But Not A Great Korn Album.

You will hear a whole mess of "where oh where did Korn's old sound go"? reviews..ill try to give you a little something different.

The good thing about this album is that its different from just about every album out there. That has been Korn's claim to fame from the get go. However..its very very toned down. Where once they played hardcore "aggresive" music from start to finish, they have traded that sound in for a more "progressive" sound. This will leave old Korn fans frustrated and leave new Korn fans shrugging thier shoulders. This is not to say that there are not some catchy toons on this album..the problem is that these songs end up being very repetitive and I found myself tired of them after only a few listens.

If you go into this album just expecting to hear a good Progressive Rock album you might be plesantly surprised. If you go into it looking for a classic Korn album you are doomed to dissapointment.

Experimental album that paid off

Whether or not you're a Korn fan, you will appreciate this album. This is the way SYOTOS should've been. The best songs off the album are Ever Be, Starting Over, Killing, Kiss but there is HONESTLY not a song I do not like off this album. It's simply an great album. Good job Korn!

Their fans have matured and so have they

This is an amazing effort by Korn. I loved Korn when I was younger but as I got older, I found myself disliking them. It seemed all a little too teen angst for me. This album, however, is entirely different. Everything from lyrics to instrumentation has matured. My personal favorites are Evolution, Do What They Say, Innocent Bystander, and Hushabye. All of the songs are very good, though. I would suggest buying the entire thing. I guess there is a reason Korn is one of the few survivors of that terrible genre "Nu Metal." I'm happy to see my teen favorite is finding ways to stay relevant. Keep it coming, Korn!

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Korn's cathartic alternative metal sound positioned the group among the most popular and provocative to emerge during the post-grunge era. Korn began their existence as the Bakersfield, CA-based metal band LAPD, which included guitarists James "Munky" Shaffer and Brian "Head" Welch, bassist Reginald "Fieldy Snuts" Arvizu, and drummer David Silveria. After issuing an LP, the members of LAPD in 1993 crossed paths with Jonathan Davis, a mortuary science student moonlighting...
