iTunes Review
There’s no doubt that John Lennon deserves the title: “Legend.” Distilling a legend’s career into a short, inclusive collection, however, requires tough decision making — though this 21-song collection has it a little easier since it focuses mainly on his post-Beatle work. It begins with his first solo etchings while still a member of the group (“Cold Turkey,” “Give Peace a Chance”) and features several powerful and cathartic numbers from his first solo album, 1970’s Plastic Ono Band (a single edit of the primal scream-based “Mother,” the beautiful simplicity of “Love,” the scalding social commentary of “Working Class Hero”). It also includes the essential heartbreakers from his milder and more stylized second solo album 1971’s Imagine (the title track and “Jealous Guy”) and key tracks from his vigorous return in 1980 with Double Fantasy. “Watching the Wheels” and “(Just Like) Starting Over” are perfect capsules of Lennon’s unerring ability to take the personal and make it universal. The posthumous tracks, “Nobody Told Me” and “Borrowed Time,” show a man who had re-found his muse and obviously had much to say with an always unique way of saying it.

Imagine your so naive
by snowboarder9025Good album has most if not all his biggest hits. On a side note I've always hated "Imagine" it's so naive and anti-religious just stick to writing songs about love and all and leave politics to the professionals... It's like Obama trying to write a song??? He most likely can but can he write a melody as good as lennon??? I think not and does Lennon comprehend what a politician has to deal with on a day to day basis??? I think not.
John....what can i say?
by oxhaleyxoxoJohn Lennon. Man, what a shame. He could of done so much for the world. But his music willl be living forever and ever. the first time i heard the "jealous guy" was with my parents. and i was like ewww turn this offf!!!!!!!! And now im 16 years old, I am in LOVE with the beatles and john, paul george and ringos music. but now that i hear it. i am in absoute love with it. i dont know what the world would do without johns music. i dont know what i would do without it. its my relaxation.
I am imagining... and i am liking
by depplvr123John Lennon is an inspiration to all those who want to write music. I have no complaints about this album. Only wonders. One of which is, why are all these song's explicit?? Important question. Will need to figure that out before i buy it. Imagine is an amazing song, and Happy Xmas is one to be treasured for centuries. One can only hope that his music will not die. The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and John Lennon alike, their music changed what "pop" is today and i know even though i didnt live in the era of the Beatles or John Lennon, their music reaches me more that any others. I am inspired by these songs and those of the Beatles. One can only hope that everyone else is too. I have only 2 thumbs but if i had more they would all be up for this album
