iTunes Review

Everything about Cut Copy screams the '80s, from their candy-coated keyboards to their DayGlo-dipped record sleeves. The one thing they aren't, though? Ironic. So don't call them new-wave revivalists or nu-rave pioneers; what they are is a sign that it's still okay to write dance-rock jams if you make them sound effortless and, well, fun. Yes, F-U-N. In Ghost Colours is the kind of album you can't say no to. Each track is essentially a tractor beam, gradually pulling the listener in with a blinding array of daydream melodies and neon-hued hooks. The potential-maximizing co-production of Tim Goldsworthy (the DFA dude that isn't in LCD Soundsystem) and a trilogy of spectacular lead-off singles ("So Haunted," "Hearts On Fire," "Lights & Music") certainly don't hurt matters, either. Definitely recommended for night owls and anyone who thinks dance music should only exist in supper clubs and Ibiza.

i consider myself musically literate but i just can't get into it. true, there are some redeemable songs but there are some that make me shiver (in a bad way) like "Out There On the Ice". the slight tone deafness of dan whitford mixed with the bubbly 80's pop background music just hurts me. some of it is fine but not something i'd choose to listen on my own accord. definitely an acquired taste.

Amazing!

One of the very best albums/bands to come along in decades. Not a bad song on either of their albums. It's a rare thing to find something I don't eventually get sick of or in which I loose interest but this has kept me engaged, happy, dancing and singing since I purchased this album last spring. It doesn't get any better than this!

Australian indie electronic trio Cut Copy take many of their cues from contemporaries like Air, Daft Punk, and LCD Soundsystem, but with a distinctly pop sensibility that draws on classic AM radio pop singles from the 1970s and '80s, with elements of vintage disco and synth pop that appeal to song-based...
