Sarah's voice is in top form - and that's really saying something - on this collection of Henry Mancini chestnuts. Her balladry is beyond reproach on How Soon, Charade, and Too Little Time, while Mr. Lucky and It Had Better Be Tonight find her silky vibrato strewn over Latin-flavored backgrounds. Moon River is given a rare and appreciated uptempo arrangement, but her reading of the rarely-heard lyrics to Peter Gunn is the true highlight, an unexpected delight that makes you want to reach for a martini glass and a cigarette holder. Vaughan is widely, rightly considered one of the greatest vocalists of all time, and her collection of Henry Mancini songs is perfect proof for that notion.
