by The GawI just saw The Monads at Off Broadway in St. Louis MO. I have to say I felt like I'd just came out from under a rock being that these folks are from the same city as me and I had never heard them. Boy am I glad I crawled out from under there, they're great! They hit the stage with a twangin', bangin' fury and didn't let up until the last chord was played. With a band like this very often that live intensity is lost when it is put on wax, this is not the case with Ornery, the production quality is great and it'll get you hootin' and hollerin' just as the live show does. So; if you are a part of the "I'm gonna get drunk and dance until I fall on my head crowd" then this album is definitely for you.
