iTunes Review

Dear Science finesses TVOTR's unusual ability to synthesize the very foundations of classic/prog rock with an atmosphere of futuristic surrealism – both musically and thematically. The first single, “Golden Age,” is subterfuge for a rare strain of optimism in the band’s work, a fantastically perky bass line laying the foundation for a dance track full of shiny horns, fluttering synths and strings, and a heavenly choir of voices. The beautiful “Lover’s Day” (with Eleanore Everdell’s vocals a perfect partner to Kyp Malone’s) is an unabashed celebration of carnal delights, with a phalanx of steady drums, soaring horns, and circling flute meeting up in a powerful coda, accompanied by angelic vocal backing. It’s darn sexy. Opener “Halfway Home” has the same majestic sheen and tension-filled buzz that made “Wolf Like Me” such a potent song, and “Dancing Choose” is an energetic, staccato-rap number moved along by a sly, funky rhythm that builds a head of steam with charging saxophones.  The slow-building, soulful “Shout Me Out” virtually explodes into a fantastic, guitar-heavy crescendo.

Intresting Music

THis album is great. Tunde and Kyp work great together and have great insperation. Many people do not understand this music. it is truly great. this album is very energetic and then at times smooth and griddy. tv on the radio never disapoints and i hope they make more music. Kyp Malone just released his own album, rain machine. it is also very good, hopefully kyp will still be with tvotr.

A Modern Masterpiece.

I have all of TVOTR's albums and this one surpasses all of them. The quality of this album is off the chart. The opener Halfway Home is both joyous and dark and sets the mood for the album. Crying has fantastic lyrics that aren't always clear but are very grim. One of my favorite tracks, Dancing Choose, has an irresistable beat and an awesome chorus. Family Tree is the most mellow song on the album and really highlights Tunde's voice and really has a lot of meaning. Stork and Owl is another highlight with amazing lyrics "Death's a door that love walks through". Pure poetry. The first single, Golden Age is one of the poppiest songs on an experimental album and shines thanks to the falsetto vocie, incredible chorus and thumping bass line. Love Dog is another great track that really pleases the ear with a feeling of lonliness and really gives you the feeling of a man feeling lost in the world around him, although the second half of the song is too drawn out. Shout Me Out is one of my least favorites. I don't like the transition but the last chorus is rather fantastic. DLZ!!!! Best song on the album and really, really crazy. I love the lyrics and the song doesn't have much instrumentally besides the lead and backing vox and the drums. I forgot Red Dress. This song has a New Orleans feel and starts with HEY JACK! F*** your war! Cuz I'm fat in love and the bombs are falling on me for sure. This leaves Lovers Day, probably my second favorite off the album. A rather explicit song that rings with such incredible joy it seems out of place with the stalkerish and dark DLZ. A pure celebration of victory. I can't say enough about the lyrics. They reflect our times better than any album Lady GAGA can ever release. Listen to the lyrics of Dancing Choose and realize it's about commercialization off everyone around you. Seriously, Dear Science is a modern masterpiece that deserves the praise its bee give. This purchase is not a waste

I want my money back. This is really disappointing. I love their earlier work and was hoping to be dazzled once again, but what a let down.
