Very Cool
by MarcieHThis is a very cool album by a woman from Spanish Sahara who grew up in a refugee camp in Algeria and later studied in Cuba. Perhaps because of her travels, there's more to it than the Arabic influence you might expect although that's certainly there. There's a strong rhythmic sense and a Latin flavor to one of the songs. Others sound Malian. If you like exotic music like Tinarawen try this!
