magical
i have had the great pleasure of seeing cara dillon in concert and there is only one word to describe her...luminous. she sings with great feeling and you are left feeling haunted by her beautiful and delicate voice. i have been waiting for a while for her to release this album and can recommend this and all of her other albums with a great enthusiam.
Her finest work yet...
Since her first record, Cara Dillon has provided some of most pleasing music. I didn't even think it was possible for her to release an even more beautiful record than the previous, but I'm thrilled to say I was wrong. The arrangements of these gorgeous traditional songs are, well, gorgeous. While the previous albums were almost strictly folky, Hill of Thieves has a wonderful emphasis on the Irish tradition. From the expression of the instruments to her traditional singing techniques, this record is a great listen. Dillon and Sam Lakeman are a match made in heaven! Not only is their music brilliant and moving, they are just so adorable. :) Just listen.
Always beautiful.
Cara Dillon has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. It is truly the voice of an angel. This cd reflects her amazing talent and ethereal voice. "Spencer the Rover" is a beautiful arrangment, an excellent combination of Cara's voice and Sam Lakeman's piano. "The Parting Glass" is another great song. Every song on this album is amazingly beautiful. Words can't do it justice. Cara Dillon is simply an Irish angel.
