i was introduced to matt simons by an ad on facebook that said, "like Jonny Lang? try Matt Simons" funny thing is, i don't think he sounds anything like jonny lang....his voice or his music.....but he is Very comparable to Gavin DeGraw, especially his voice. luckily, i love gavin degraw as well :)

Nice Debut EP

by Alessi

Matt Simons has a unique sound-almost a cross between Amos Lee and Gavin DeGraw, with a hint of Jon McLaughlin. One of the EP's highlights is the opening track, "I Have Said Enough", combining both heartfelt lyrics with a soulful piano melody. Another impressive track is a cover of Otis Redding's "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay", which adds a blue-eyed-soul twist to the classic. "Fall In Line" and "The Best Years of Our Lives" are upbeat numbers that show Simons' potential to write radio-friendly hits without losing his sincerity as a musician. The former track has a brilliant bluesy saxophone number that makes the track more than memorable. “My Reverie” also demonstrates Simons’ ability to write a soulful ballad. Another one of the EP’s highlights is Simon’s cover of Jeff Buckley’s “Lover, You Should Have Come Over”. Although Simons’ vocal are not a heartbreaking as Buckley’s, he still manages to combine soul and sincerity in what is arguably the best track on the EP. Overall, Simons does a brilliant job blending original compositions with classic covers on his debut EP, as he blends sincere and earnest vocals with polished melodies.

by matt simons is such a stud.

Matt Simons rocks my socks off. His soft, sweet music lubricates my ears. I find the combination of romantic, clever, and shockingly insightful lyrics and unique yet catchy melodies so intensely exhilerating, i cannot help but listen to him 24/ 7. Every one of his lyrics, I imagine he is singing to me. He is the solitary god of my musical world. I think he sounds like gavin, but a skillion times better. Oh my god, I would happily give him like soooo many bro jobs if he did a show in my hometown and I could come see him perform live. Since I discovered Matt Simons, I have never been happier. I think he will go far with his luscious, luxorious voice. I hear he is a total stud as well. Check him out, like, ASAP. OMGGGGGGGGG.
