Great effort

by ModernFolks

This is a great album. Wendell is sort of like Jim Croce without the all the years of cigarettes maybe. Poetic, and emotionally connecting this is a great freshman album. Sweet Virginia is like a warm blanket and captures a early November drive down I-95 perfectly...If a song actually makes you want to travel somewhere, then it is successful. Freida the Goose and Time on My Mind have a great modern folk sound something like Ryan Adams collaborating with David Wilcox (with John Gorka on guitar). If you like mellow modern folk music/singer songwriter types this will be a great addition to your library.

Love it

I haven't stopped listening to it for the past couple of days. Musically, it's well done; lyrically, it's even better. Personally, "Time on My Mind" has some of the best lyrics I've heard in a while.

Buy it. You won't regret it.

Hope For The Future Of Folk

by Les Newsom

Kimbrough's opening effort sounds at times like a young Bill Staines or a mellow Jim Croce throughout the first half of the album. The latter half shows his more contemporary influences showing his ability to channel Ryan Adams. He can turn a phrase with great skill over a thoughtful melody that make this newcomer sound like an old soul with a bright future. A GREAT listen!
