This kid's got it
by Dave DyerWoke up this morning to the smoothly and unforgettably repeating out-phrase "I can only dream..." (from the tune Trains) echoing in my recesses, and knew it was time to write a review.
This Lake is unique from the man who made it, while reminiscent of many styles and recordings we all hold dear...familiar and new, promising and setting the mind to wanderings where one is at ease and in good mood. Whether in the foreground or front, it plays well. (Personally, I like to Wii to it...)
In sum, it's stuck in my head, which is the most I can ask of any record. Well done, Patrick.
The Only One
by hang_the_DJ'sI bought a couple of albums recently and this is the only one I keep listening to. 'Nuff said?
It has a lot of depth and interesting/new sound. I'd never heard of this guy but saw a link for it online and discovered a gem. Good to hear a new songwriter with something fresh to offer. Definitely worth picking up, you won't put it down!
Unique and HIp
by kutreI had to listen to the songs a few times, but the more you listen the better you get the feeling that something hip and unique is going on with these songs. Probably what listeners felt when first hearing Pink Floyd or Jazzmatazz for the first time. I like the electronic feel with a mix of live music production. Music that will be played over and over again.
