Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" was lots of people's choice as the summer song of 2005. Its irresistible marching-band beat and insistent "B-A-N-A-N-A-S" refrain were the star's ultimate proof that the wider stylistic pool she fished in for Love, Angel, Music, Baby was among her smartest moves. Much of the music here expanded on the genre-jumping pop of No Doubt's Rock Steady - cranked-up hip-hop here, wistful New Wave-influenced pop there. Like Madonna, Stefani continues to make waves as not only a style star and major seller, but as a credible artist whose work happens to touch millions.

A Fantastic Album by Any Standards
by tbcqWhether of not you're a fan of Gwen's work, it's undeniable that the beats, complications, use of instruments, and innovative lyrics are amazingly impressive. Every song is 100% original, addicting, and so very different from the track before it. I can't even recommend one certain song because over the years I've grown to love them all in different ways for different reasons. If you're a bit weary that this album will not be enough for you, IT WILL BE!
