Customer Reviews
Excellent. Very good!
FM Static, the alter ego of Christian rock band Thousand Foot Krutch, has what we call, done it again. After 3 years they have made an amazing album that was definitely worth the wait. The whole album has a punk rock feel, not really slowing down for any one track other than Take Me As I Am. Each song has a different feel, you have your straight up punk (Boy Moves to a new Town With Optimistic Outlook, The Unavoidable Battle of Feelings) and a couple of interesting ones (Man Watcha Dong?, The Voyage of Beliefs).
This is a purely concept album, and each song is written about a different point of view in life, as seen from various high school students. FM Static is a great band, gives all the glory to God! Great album!
Best Yet
FM Static's 3rd album has exceeded my expectations. Trevor and crew has taken the FM Static project to another level. I am having a hard time believing that this is a secondary group. Not only does this album rock, but the lyrics have direction. This album walks through time in High School through leaving for college from a teenage boy's perspective. The underlying theme is that no matter what the challenge, God is always there beside. What an awesome message. Thank you FM Static!
FM Static is clearly the best
FM Static has done very well. With Trevor McNevan leading the way with years of good experience, the band was always likely to prosper, which brought no surprise when it did. From the first song, you can tell that it's still FM Static, but they are much cleaner and well put together. The second song, "The Unavoidable Battle of Feeling On The Outside" is another song that has the same feel. "Boy Meets Girl (And Vice Versa)" has some of the best guitar that I've heard FM Static do. "Sometimes You Can Forget Who You Are" is a great listen with a great message. "Man Whatcha Doin?" is a fantastic song, fun and rockin, the only bad thing is that the time of it only breaks two minutes. "The Voyage of Beliefs" has some nice vocals, great hooks, and features Trica from Superchick, who's voice is a fantastic compliment to Trevor's. "Her Father's Song" is a nice slow song, and is a great reminder that this album follows a story line. "Take Me As I Am" is the strongest point of this album, it is a slightly slower song and the lyrics and the hooks trap you in. "Dear God" is the character's cry out to God for help and guidance. And finally, "The Shindig" is the resolution that leaves everything in a happy tone. FM Static has had good music in the past, with each album getting better. This album perfectly combines "What Are You Wating For"s fun and pop, with "Critically Ashamed"s seriousness and lyrics tossed in. If you don't have "Dear Diary" get it now, and you will NOT regret it.
