iTunes Review

As of 2009, Jeff Buckley’s legacy is firmly established among his hardcore cult following who have been treated to exhaustive archeological digs of his recorded works. He died young and didn’t leave as much behind as his audience would prefer. Since supply cannot meet demand, his every note becomes all the more significant. This collection takes his lone finished album, Grace, and presents it as a live performance with renditions from Europe, MTV specials and anywhere else a decent recording showed up. Buckley approached his work as an improviser and performed his material with an elastic reality that enabled the songs to transform themselves as the moment revealed. “Mojo Pin” could last twelve minutes, while Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” could expand over seven. Songs such as “Last Goodbye,” “Dream Brother” and “Eternal Life” only have their meaning and impact deepened by the ensuing years. Buckley was a young artist just finding his way. His ambitious dreams were often still sketches of a greater work he envisioned in his mind.

Live At Sin-E is much better.

It isn't bad and there is a deluxe edition with some live songs from Seattle, but live at Sin-E is definitely better.

Just get Grace

I love Jeff. Grace is my favorite album of all time and every time I listen to it, it is like discovering it all over again. And I realize I'm gushing, but it really is that good. BUT these live versions just aren't that great. They are low quality. Just buy yourself Grace and enjoy.

Wonderful album!

I'm so happy that this album was created! I've listened to Grace enough to know that we truly lost a very talented musician and singer. I'll be sure to play these recordings endlessly for a long time to come!

Since he was the son of cult songwriter Tim Buckley, Jeff Buckley faced more expectations and pre-conceived notions than most singer/songwriters. Perhaps it wasn't surprising that Jeff Buckley's music was related to his father's by only the thinnest of margins. Buckley's voice was grand and...
