iTunes Review

George Harrison was always overshadowed in the Beatles by the incredible accomplishments of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. However, his own distinct, eclectic talents blossomed at their own pace and the live tracks here from the Concert for Bangladesh of his Beatles material, “Something,” “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and “Here Comes the Sun,” are among the quiet Beatle’s most awe-inspiring moments. His solo career began with a strong opening flourish. Five tracks from the Phil Spector produced All Things Must Pass are mixed in with Harrison’s later tunes, including several from the posthumous 2001 release Brainwashed (“Any Road,” “Marwa Blues”). Several rarities are added: a collaboration with Tom Petty, “Cheer Down,” that was released as a single from the Lethal Weapon 2 soundtrack, and a cover of Bob Dylan’s “I Don’t Want to Do It,” produced by Dave Edmunds, which appeared on the Porky’s Revenge(!) soundtrack. iTunes offers an exclusive unreleased bonus track of the earliest demo version of “Isn’t It a Pity.”

Fantastic CD. Although there are definitely some great songs missing, this is still a great collection of some of the best. This Is Love is superb. Buy this CD without hesitation. Miss you George, you were and always will be an idol.

George would be disappointed

I have been waiting since George's death for a "Greatest Hits" album...and I'm still waiting...George deserves better...and so do we! Where is "Crackerbox Palace", "You"...and if you are going to include Beatles songs why not such Beatles classics as "Everybody's trying to be my baby", "Roll over Beethoven" and "Do you want to know a Secret"
