Best Spoon song in a while

by m99j

I caught the latter half of "Got Nuffin" on the radio and knew right away it was Spoon. I got it right away on I-Tunes. Great song. Sound is a throwback to the "Series of Sneaks" days. Spoon is a consistently way cool band. Hope there is more to come like this.

1 out of 3 ain't bad, especially when the 1 is arguably Spoon's best ever.

The EP is so-so, but Got Nuffin is 5 stars. I'd have given 6 if I could have. Great alternative song that just kicks a*s. Love it.

this a tasty little morsel that spoon feeds us. the title track is fantastic. it gives a "jonathan fisk" style rhythm, accented with extra punchy drums and mixed with high octane guitar spurts similar to those heard on "utilitarian", "30 gallon tank" and "believing is art". the best part of this song though, lies in the smoldering energy that keeps you stoked all the way through. "tweakers" is exactly as titled, a tweaked out drum beat that has some subtle sound bites mixed in throughout. it is the weakest of the tracks but i would not deam it a total waste of time. lastly, "stroke their brains" is just quality, it's a rhythm ride for sure. it kinda gives off some of the same feelings as "take a walk" but it's just so much better. despite the randomness of "tweakers", this is a really impressive sound spoon dishes out. a delicious appitizer that leaves me ravenous for the main course. anyone who is a spoon fan should eat this up.
