I wonder what Chris Martin would say
I am a huge coldplay fan. I have every one of their records and have been to several expensive shows and experienced the magic that happens with that band. Honestly my favorite coldplay albums were the first two. X&Y was good but not the best. I felt the messages behind the songs were more bland and the melodies reflected that as well. I think this version of "fix you" is really unique. For those who say it sounds just like the original you must not have much music background. Pedal steel and banjo do not show up at all in the original nor do those thick doubled vocals and not to mention the entire endings melody is nothing like the original. Though some may critisize me for saying this, I honestly like this! I honestly would wonder what Chris Martin would say.

I think it's a great version! Ruth has their own distinct style, and you can even hear it in a cover. I love Coldplay, and i love Ruth so i think it's a good combo. :)

Of course, when you cover a great song by great artists, you are taking a risk. Ruth pulled it off. This is a fresh rendition that revisits a masterful song. You can't listen without feeling the angst and struggle. It's become my new "standard" for this song. Chris Martin would be proud.
