Monsters of Folk

Dear God, in some places, this album was so good I could barely breathe. M. Ward's vocals are amazing! Words cannot describe how amazing this whole album is, especially Goodway, which was actually partially from a letter. Any fan of folk in general should love this stuff, and if you don't, you don't know real music.

I had high hopes for this being a big MMJ fan but have to say Jim James has disappointed again. Admittedly I'm not a big fan of Bright Eyes or M. Ward but I was still hoping this would be good. There's nothing terrible but the songwriting and melodies are just not that strong. The songs just sound like less interesting re-hashes of their less interesting songs.
