iTunes Review

Sure, Bob Dylan’s a folk hero, a man interested in songs that stand the test of time. Over the years, he’s become quite enamored with his backing band, who can recreate the pre-rock ‘n’ roll-era roadhouse blues without a pause. So in 2009, with a voice made of sandpaper, Bob Dylan can be a crooner of tunes such as “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” “O’ Come All Ye Faithful (Adeste Fideles)” and “Silver Bells” and croon as peculiarly as he’s been known to sing, with notes disappearing, phrases rephrased and a ton of personal joy tucked in the performance. Only Dylan would sound like he’s clearing his throat at the onset of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” Backing singers, a prominent element on records from Bob’s childhood, chase him down the holiday aisles. This won’t be everyone’s idea of a holiday item, but for Dylan fans, accustomed to the bard’s unusual turns of inspiration, Christmas In the Heart is one more way-out gift from an American treasure.

Oh my god. I want to kill myself

Just bad. So bad. So terrible. So not Xmas. What In gods name did they think this sounded like. This would make any kid or adult scream in pain to listen to. I'm saving it for holloween.

Yep

What you thought it would be. I'd be happy listening to him sing the dictionary.

Something's Happening And You Don't Know What It Is. Do you, Mr. Jones?

If you don't like it, then you simply don't get it!
Dylan is a genius. He has done this his whole career. He takes a genre, turns it upside down, people get upset and say "it's terrible!", yet in time....his greatness is eventually recognized (ie. Hall of Fame inductions, Kennedy Center Award, Pulitzer Prize to name a few).
He has done this with folk, rock, country, gospel...and each time people get upset and don't like it. But it always turns out that they just "didn't get it."
Time will prove this album! Great work Bob!
(and for those who think his "voice is shot"....What do you want him to sing like...an American Idol Pop Star? Bob purposefully sings like this. He manipulates his voice for artistic purposes! Have you not heard the many singing styles he has had over the past....oh, let's say...about 50 years? Get with it people

Bob Dylan's influence on popular music is incalculable. As a songwriter, he pioneered several different schools of pop songwriting, from confessional singer/songwriter to winding, hallucinatory, stream of conscious narratives. As a vocalist, he broke down the notion that a singer must have a conventionally good voice in order to perform, thereby redefining the vocalist's role in popular music. As a musician, he sparked several genres of pop music, including electrified folk-rock and country-rock....
