Album Review

Blues Traveler's loose jam structures on basic blues riffs mark them as a band in the tradition of such predecessors as the Grateful Dead. Unlike that communal effort, however, this group has a distinct focal point in virtuoso harmonica player and vocalist John Popper, who keeps things from meandering too much.

The older, beloved album.

Like many other BT projects since, it revels in the instrument solos to a point where some might get turned off. However, the music is just so much fun that I have always been willing to overlook this fact.

Few albums change your life, but this is one of them for me. Timeless and as good now as when first played back in the early ninties. Blues Traveler dropped this killer album at that short moment in time after the Dead seemed old and Phish had not yet kicked in. Never getting as big on the live tape circuit, but nevertheless a killer studio disk band. And great live too. A must have for the collection....and its best played start to finish
