Album Review
Although a tad on the safe side, with many tracks following a similar thread, there isn't too much fault to be found in Natalie Brown's debut release. Capably produced by Jeremy Rwakaaraa and recorded in San Francisco, the 13 tracks on this sensually captivating disc demonstrate the poise and finesse of a competent soul artist in the making. Brown comes across as a softer version of Teena Marie and Christina Aguilera, without the robust vocals. Her range is more suited for mid-tempo arrangements such as "You Make Me Feel," "You Pierced My Soul," and the title song. With an easy delivery, melodic harmonies, and gently pulsing rhythms, Let the Candle Burn provides a convincing introduction to the wealth of talent simmering just below the surface.

Filled with nice tracks...
by NickBdThis album is filled with old vibe that's close to Destiny's Child's self-titled album. Laid-back grooves with mid-range female vocal with occasional rapper apperances makes a perfect record for relaxing while you're in a bathtub. You don't find these tracks any more in 2009. I am glad I found this record....

Found her via a tweet at Twitter and listened to a song from her latest album and then checked out what other music she had and found Let The Candle Burn which is another great album. I love the song "In My Dreams" and "You Pierced My Soul". I am amazed that this album is from 2000 and Natalie is not yet a big star! She should be with a voice and touching songs like she has. Really great!!!
