Album Review
Greatest Hits is a reasonably comprehensive collection of Joan Baez's best-known songs, concentrating mainly on her crossover hits. Although it misses several fine items, the compilation remains an effective introduction for the curious listener.

by Darko WildeJoan Baez' voice is just plain beautiful and she has the ability to move me after all these years. I so enjoyed listening to her this morning while on my morning walk - what a great way to start the day. Diamonds and Rust in particular is one of my favorite songs of all time. Nobody sings quite like her, although I did simultaneously purchase a new CD entitled "Expectations: A Folk Rock Revolution" here on iTunes with some very good, yet undiscovered talent on it. One vocalist, Renee Quail, had a somewhat similar, haunting tone to her voice - as yet a bit unrefined, but some possibilities there. Also Audra Hardt whom I had heard of before and a couple of others.
