Album Review
Eleven tracks are present on Indivisible, and five of them are instrumentals. In artwork and mood, this is very much Lungfish's "black" album. An emotional release is frozen in the active grieving anger that is Indivisible. Sonic Youth-like, distorted but trebly guitar sounds united with a rock-and-brooding rhythm section. Lungfish's art-rock catharsis is marked by dissonance or simplicity for a melody and sparseness or heavy hurtling from drums and warm bass. The male vocals are voiced from the head and mix to sound far away for the feel of eavesdropping on a poor soul working out a personal therapy inside a tenement window. Finely conceived for its prevailing atmosphere, Indivisible is a true album for its even texture and direction.

My favorite Lungfish album....
by BennyProfaneOK. So Lungfish is not for everyone. With few exceptions, each song has one riff, repeated for a few minutes with Daniel Higgs sort of yell/singing his personal brand of pseudo religious/anatomical/mystical poetry. Yet its this repetition and consistency of sound that makes them so amazing, straddling the line between punk/hardcore, indie rock, and meditative ambience. That being said--this is my favorite of all their albums. Bridging the gap between their earlier heavier sound, and a newer, more moody sound, this album has a little bit of everything, from the angry sounds of "Fill the Days" to some of their first experiments with instrumentals, its a quick listen, but an incredible one. Like most great albums, you probably won't like it the first time out--Higgs' voice takes a little while to get used to. But give it a chance. Its worth it. Also try "Artifical Horizon".
