by Ze BerzerkerI would recommend this album to anyone, whether they listen to classical regularly or not. This is both classic and contemporary, and some of the music is breath taking and heart-wrenching. My favourite is the "Fratres for Eight Cellos", and "Fratres for Cello and Piano"... but of course they'd make you buy the album for that. :P Check out more from I Fiamminghi and Rudolf Werthen; you will not be disappointed!
Transcendent
by ajones1113This CD is a must have for anybody interested in Arvo Part's music or Rudolf Werthen's performances. Granted, the main reason for buying this album is for the spectacular Fratres, but the Summa and Cantus are excellent pieces as well. The Festina Lente, while great, simply cannot hold a torch to the final track, which is utterly spectacular in terms of its performance and depth. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
