Album Review

Well, they say the best things in life are worth waiting for — drummer Bramhall started recording this tasty blues-rock album in 1980, wrapping it up in 1992 — here it is, out on Antone's in 1994. Not a shabby effort, either — Bramhall has that big smoky Bob Seger kind of voice, and the music is muscular and warm, a friendly, welcome bar-rock kind of sound. Good stuff, I say.

i cant believe i found the original Doyle!
     

wow, he played with Stevie Ray in the Nightshades way back in the 60's when stevie was a teenager. Him and Jimmie were Stevie's biggest influences.

Born in Dallas in 1949, this singer/songwriter/drummer grew up listening to Dallas radio (with heavy doses of Jimmy Reed, Ray Charles, and Bobby Blue Bland on rock & roll stations) and locals the Nightcaps, one of the country's first white electric blues bands. In high school he joined the Chessmen, which soon included a young Jimmie Vaughan on guitar; they opened in Dallas on Jimi Hendrix's first U.S. tour.
