iTunes Review

Rolling on stately rhythms of brooding grandeur, Coldplay made good on its initial promise with an outstanding sophomore album. A Rush Of Blood To The Head (2002) kept faith with the band’s audience by further mining the lyric depths and sonic chasms heard on their debut Parachutes. Echoing the stark atmospherics of Pink Floyd and the emotionally unguarded vocals of Brian Wilson in his prime, Coldplay creates music of austere power throughout this album. Singer Chris Martin’s luminous falsetto achieves an aching poignancy on tracks like “Politik” and “Amsterdam,” lending elusive colors to his elliptical lyrics. There’s a majestic power to the band’s stripped-down ensemble playing, whether they’re unreeling a loping groove on “In My Place,” weaving a swirling melody on “Clocks” or painting a bleak aural landscape on the title track. “God Put A Smile On Your Face” may be the album’s high point – Martin’s spiritual intimations mesh with the shimmering flow of the track flawlessly — amid the incisive playing and quiet intensity throughout.

This is not a review about the cd because i can't write one. Why? Becasue, frankly, I haven't heard the entire cd....yet. This review is about the song clocks. It's one of the most powerful, interesting, amazing songs I have ever heard. I was speachless after I heard this for the first time. It makes me fell like the world is at peace. Coldplay made one of the best songs of all time. Thank God that they exist.

Thank you...

If I could I would rate all these songs like a million stars each because this is one of, if not THE best Alternative Rock album ever created. From Politik's Cymbal-crashing intro to Amsterdam's depressing melodies, A Rush of Blood to the Head is definetly right up there with Parachutes (My 2nd favorite album). All 10/10 on my charts. Oh, and by the way, for those of you iTunes users that rated this album one or two stars...have you LISTENED to this work of art? You'd be out of your mind not to own this masterpiece. So come on...listen to...say..Green Eyes. A beautifully written song about Chris Martin's (the singer/rhythm guitar) love for his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow. By the way, I saw Coldplay LIVE at the Clark County Amphitheatre in Ridgefield, Washington, and let me tell you...that was A-MAZING. Pure genius. To make a long review short, BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
