Album Review

Alice Cooper hadn't had a hugely successful album in over a decade when, in 1989, he teamed up with Bon Jovi producer Desmond Child for Trash — a highly slick and commercial yet edgy pop-metal effort that temporarily restored him to the charts in a big way. Fueled by the irresistible hit single "Poison," the album temporarily gave back to Cooper the type of visibility he deserved. There's nothing shocking here, and Cooper's ability to generate controversy had long since faded. But while the escapist Trash — which was clearly aimed at the Mötley Crüe/Guns N' Roses crowd — may not be the most challenging album of Cooper's career, and isn't in a class with School's Out or Billion Dollar Babies, it's fun and quite enjoyable. And it was great to see the long-neglected Cooper on MTV next to so many of the '80s rockers he had influenced.

Classic Alice

This 1989 release was a successful album which included tracks like House of Fire, Only My Heart Talkin', Hell Is Living Without You and Poison a timeless piece. I had the pleasure seeing Alice a few years ago in concert and the man can still put on a great show. Alice Cooper will always for me go down as one the true founders of hard rock and should be more reconized.

Pedal To The Metal

i love it when alice cooper plays heavy metal like Hey Stoopid and Trash or thrash metal like Dragontown and Brutal Planet.alice has gone back to playing rolling stones style of rock n' roll but id wish hed go back to playin' metal.

Only My Heart Talkin'

Alice is a production freak. In recent interviews he talks of listening to Brittany Spears and Backstreet Boys and sh*t like that and just admiring the production values. So this album must be one of his favorites, and mine too. Nothing here sounds out of place and it is all radio friendly, even though they only had the hit single "poison" the whole album was meant to be played on the radio. It's a great album not a bad song or a filler anywhere. I'm glad the Coop finally got a little of the recognition he deserved tword the end of the 80's early 90's after so much disappointing crap. Hell, even my old man likes this and the last Coop song he heard was "Eighteen" back in Vietnam. Go ahead and just buy it you cannot possibly be disappointed. Great 80's-90's hard rock.

Originally, there was a band called Alice Cooper led by a singer named Vincent Damon Furnier. Under his direction, Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical and violent brand of heavy metal that was designed to shock. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, heavy metal, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood, and huge boa constrictors, all coordinated by the heavily made-up Furnier. By that time, Furnier had adopted the name...
