Album Review
The Fold has emerged as its own fine pop/rock entity totally deserving of the attention of the underage pack by virtue of sticky hooks and a glossy, melodic sheen instead of simply being the new project of former Showoff drummer turned Fold frontman Dan Castady. Secrets Keep You Sick is super polished and super easy on the ears, but its lack of any real edge or danger is forgiven in the face of the band just, well, seeming like really nice guys — but you know, the kind that you don't automatically hate on principle alone and who know how to craft a catchy song. Castady's voice sometimes toughens up and reveals a relatively rough edge to prove how much he means something (as in the spacious string-filled "Closer" or the urgent "Down in Doubt and Living Without"), but mostly, it's the charging rhythms and boy-next-door charm of the Fold that makes cuts like pounding opener "Medicine" work. Sometimes the band strays into terrain similar to Fall Out Boy (see the vocal inflections of "Younger Than Our Years" or playful chorus of first single "New Skeptic"), but they never come off as simply trying to ape their peers. (Though really, the acoustic-based "Hey Rebekah" can't help but recall Plain White T's' "Hey There Delilah.") The Fold, with all of their Christian-inspired but never overtly-religious lyrics, does make rather safe music, but then again, Secrets Keep You Sick provides some great moments of catchiness, is easy to sing along to, and washes down easy. Stronger than their debut, this album makes a worthy addition to any Tooth and Nail aficionado's collection.

I enjoyed (and still enjoy) This Too Shall Pass better.
by andydrums89I have nothing negative against this album at all. It was good but when I juxtapose this album to their debut album, "This Too Shall Pass," it just reminds me how much more I fell in love with their older sound. This album is definitely more pop than the first. The stronger tracks on this album that I highly recommend are "Medicine," "New Skeptic," and "Revisited."
WOW
by CallMeSoPoetici love this band! The lyrics are great and the energy put into every song is heartfelt and sincere.
But to the people who question their 'Christian-ness' based on the amount of times they say God, you are ridiculous. I love Jesus but i don't say God or Jesus every few words. Being a Christian isn't dependent on how much you talk about Him, it's on how you live your life.
In Response to METAL + CHRIST = AWESOME
by shocktartzgirlI would definitely say I have to strongly disagree with you. The Fold can be a Christian Band without having to directly reference God throughout the music. The point is to FIND God, not to just expect Him or His ideals to be handed to you. The Fold does an amazing job of being a witness to listeners about His glory and His patience, kindness, and mercy. Their songs indirectly reference Him and His love. The Fold is being a light in a different type of industry, shedding hope to listeners who usually. or have never, lisented to, or obsessed over a christian band. I believe everyone of God's children deserves to be the witness where they are called. I encourage The Fold to continue to produce and create wonderful and inspiring music that shares God's love, and encourages the listeners to find the purpose in the individual songs. We can only truely appreciate something when we work for it. I applaude The Fold, and their amazing album Secrets Keep You Sick
