iTunes Review

At the time of this release in 1971, when singer-songwriters were baring their souls, McCartney chose to indulge his pop instincts. From the opening track of “Too Many People,” McCartney wraps himself in mildly psychedelic tones with lots of vocal adventures where his voice sails through the air. “3 Legs” is a minor barnburner blues that exemplifies his playful side. But it’s the gripping, swirling mock-rock of “Monkberry Moon Delight,” the party-in-progress boogie enthusiasm of “Smile Away,” the carefully wrought pop melodicism of “Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey” and the powerful album closer “The Back Seat of My Car” that best exhibit the complexity and innate professionalism that drives this ex-Beatle. Goofy sidesteps like the horn-driven “Ram On,” the piano-led “Dear Boy” (hear where Ben Folds learned his craft) and the sexually-endowed studio rock of “Eat At Home” find McCartney refusing to take his legacy as seriously as some critics might like. The reissue includes the hit single “Another Day,” proving McCartney’s unerring knack for the perfectly catchy hit single.

Rare song of my childhood days

by AlexCosta786

I remember my father listening to Paul McCartney and his beautiful wife Linda, and an old friend, now passed away, commenting: "Ram means Carneiro, in portuguese". I still don't realize what "Ram On" is supposed to mean, but the big Ram at the LP cover confirmed Cristiano's Translation. This song will always be among the most important of my entire life. I did what it tells us to: Gave my heart to somebody right away... Wonderful Paul, Eternal Paul. I love your silly love songs.

A Classic The Transcends Time!

Paul McCartney was, by far, the most successful Beatle of the post-Beatle era. Although his first solo effort was a great start, THIS album, to me was his masterpiece....never to be equaled even by his terriffic later work. "Ram" gives us a look at all of the sides of Sir Paul. I'm glad to see that this remastered version also includes "Another Day" and the unusual
"Oh Woman, Oh Why". These two songs should have been included in the original 1971 release...and I don't understand
why they were not, unless it was space. This album is a MUST HAVE, especially for Beatles, post-Beatles, and late 60s/
early 70s music fans.
