iTunes Review

The 1973 follow-up to the superb All Things Must Pass, Living In the Material World further probes the spiritual questions that ex-Beatle George Harrison spent his life trying to better understand. It leads to material that on a lyrical level can feel very serious and weighty — “The Light That Has Lighted the World,” “The Lord Loves the One (That Loves the Lord)” — with vocals that share that heavy tone. However, finally freed from his secondary status in the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band, Harrison indulges his own tasteful playing and memorable guitar lines and tones, and breaks past the philosophical dirges with the expertise and pleasure of a consummate professional. “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)” is a ‘60s holdover, while “Don’t Let Me Wait Too Long” and “Sue Me, Sue You Blues” shuffle past with a clear understanding of how to find a steady groove. Ringo joins on drums and the tight-knit sound adds real presence to “The Day The World Gets ‘Round” and the title track.

The Final George Harrison Album

by Rick E Lake

The thing I remember most about this album was the photo of George on the lawn of one his mansions with a Mercedes 600 limo in the driveway;
I consider this the last Beatle George album; Nothing that followed had the charm you can still hear on this one. For here on he is
just another solo artist, or a Wilbury - but not a Beatle. Isn't It A Pity?

The Krishna Conscious Album

by madan gopal das

This was my first George LP. Lyrically, musically very moving from beginning to end. Nice to hear it so nice & polished all these years later. The theme is universal. Personally, this release inspired me to start my ongoing spiritual journey. George Harrison was able to sing & play with so much sincereity. A must for fans of true "soul" music.
