Album Review

Danzig's breakthrough EP features three new studio tracks (Thrall) and live performances of four of the band's most popular songs (Demonsweatlive). The live version of "Mother" was the hit, of course, but there are other worthwhile moments — the new tracks include "It's Coming Down," a threatening rocker, and a cover of Elvis Presley's "Trouble," and the live material is also highlighted by "Sistinas," one of the band's best songs.

the non live tracks are great and the live tracks are all good in my view and the song trouble is a cover of when danzig made that song in the band samhain

Danzig rocks, no doubt. And if you've got money to burn, start by picking up Danzig I and work your way thru their catalogue chronologically. If you're looking for a good intro to the band, this EP includes quality live versions (from an Orange County concert) of some of their best tracks from previous albums ('Sistinas', 'Snakes of Christ', 'Mother'). The new material, 'It's Coming Down' and 'The Violet Fire', finds the band firing on 12 sinister cylinders.

Great Originals and Great Cover. The Live tracks buy on there own if you want, there awesome.
Mother 93 is just like Mother on Danzig I no change except for 3 seconds and a different tunning.

During his time in the seminal hardcore band the Misfits, vocalist Glenn Danzig displayed a fascination with outlandish, graphic, often gory imagery; in forming the more heavy metal-oriented band Samhain, Danzig's lyrics delved into typical metal subject matter, but took the concept of darkness to an extreme. After the demise of Samhain, Danzig formed his own eponymous band with Samhain guitarist John Christ, ex-Rosemary's Babies drummer Eerie Von on bass, and longtime hardcore drummer Chuck Biscuits...
