iTunes Review

The contemporary metal scene has splintered into countless sub-genres, but Motorhead are one band on which every headbanger can still agree. The band’s twentieth studio album, Motorizer, is plugged into every era of hard rock history. “Runaround Man” shows that the band’s foundation still comes from Chuck Berry, while “English Rose” is one of the most tuneful songs Lemmy has ever written. Of course, real fans will delight in the slaughtering energy of “Rock Out” and “Buried Alive,” two songs that follow in the tradition of “Ace of Spades.” With grisly production from longtime producer Cameron Webb, Motorizer will appeal to fans of Velvet Revolver and Mastodon as well as old-school followers of AC/DC and Black Sabbath. And while no one can accuse Motorhead of toning down their sound in their old age, closing their record with a scathing anti-war song (“The Thousand Names of God”) is a stance that few of their younger protégés have the nerve to take.

Customer Reviews

England's greatest hellraisers give us another English rose.

Lemmy is 62, what about you? If his performance here does not inspire you to help you realize that at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, [whatever age you are] you are NOT old yet -- then nothing will. Rock and roll is timeless, and very few others make this known as well as Motorhead. Several killer songs on here, English Rose may be my favorite.

One of their best

This really is one of the best motorhead albums. There is the clasic set that's always talked about: Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, Iron Fist, the ones by the original line up. And though I think the things Moterhead have done since have been very good, I never thought they messured all the way up, but Moterizer does. It is at the same level as Overkill and Bomber and the rest. It is one of those rare albums where every song is worth listening too

they do it again....

Motörhead does it AGAIN

ps "Rock out is WWE Unforgiven 2008 theme song"

KEEP ROCKING MOTORHEAD!

Biography

Formed: 1975 in London, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s

Motörhead's overwhelmingly loud and fast style of heavy metal was one of the most groundbreaking styles the genre had to offer in the late '70s. Though the group's leader, Lemmy Kilminster, had his roots in the hard-rocking space rock band Hawkwind, Motörhead didn't bother with his old group's progressive tendencies, choosing to amplify the heavy biker rock elements of Hawkwind with the speed of punk rock. Motörhead wasn't punk rock — they formed before the Sex Pistols and they loved the hell-for-leather...
