iTunes Review
Six of the eight songs on Prospekt’s March were recorded for Viva La Vida but were finished too late to make the album. It's easy to see why the band insisted on releasing these outtakes as an epilogue to Viva La Vida, arguably Coldplay’s most definitive album to date. The high point of Viva La Vida is its title track, a propulsive melody that climaxes into a fist-pumping anthem. Nothing else on the album approaches the energy level of that hit single, but at least three songs on Prospekt’s March do. “Glass of Water” and “Rainy Day” are surging processionals, while “Life in Technicolor ii” gives an idea of what would happen if Bruce Springsteen and the Cure collaborated on a stadium hymn. The remaining tracks on Prospekt’s March aren’t bad by any means, but they definitely sound more like outtakes. It's the trilogy of melodramatic anthems that help to confirm Coldplay as a populist answer to the heart-pounding marches of the Arcade Fire.

Coldplay can do no wrong
by HydestaThis is the best EP I have ever heard, every song is a masterpiece, including "Lost+", I understand why people are infuriated over Jay-Z rapping over Coldplay, but it adds a whole new dimension to the song. If you want to be mad, be mad at the Grammy performance with Jay-Z. Now that was bad
Like a True Album!
by dreview22Coldplay could release this as a normal album and still blow minds (like they do on every one of their songs)!
Again?
by Treeface40I didn't even figure out this album existed until today. I heard from a review of Viva la Vida.
But this is incredible!! It almost seems like an update of Viva la Vida. I'll review a couple songs.
Life in Technicolor ii 10/10- This is awesome. I didn't think Life in Technicolor needed words, but it's very good with them. I also like how they extended it. Awesome song.
Postcards from Far Away 6/10- Its an ok song, but seriously, it's only 40-50 seconds long. This song is just like Parachutes, a song on one of Coldplay's older albums. Probably my least favorite.
Glass of Water 8/10: Not a bad song. It brings out a musical side of Coldplay Ive never heard, but it actually works out pretty well.
Rainy Day 9/10- Has that same new music that Glass of Water has, but I think it works out better in this song. Really good song.
Prospekt's March 5/10- Seriously. I really expected more out of the title song. It's ok, but it's probably one of my least favorites.
Lost+ 4/10- Thanks for ruining another great song, Jay-Z. I loved Lost! and thought Lost? was ok, but now they've put in a rapper, which is very sad, because Coldplay is the exact opposite of that. Very disappointing.
Lovers in Japan 9/10- It had to grow on me, but now I realize this song is great. It really reflects what Coldplay can do in terms of music, because this is very different. Very good song.
I can't really remember the name of the last song, but I know I was going to give it a 7/10, it isn't great.
Viva la Vida music video 10/10- Awesome. Personally, I like the other music video better, but this one expresses more what's happening in the song. And Viva la Vida is just a great song.
Overall this album is rated: 9/10. Not bad. I look forward ti seeing more albums from coldplay.
