Album Review
For the most part, as far as the genre of death metal goes, there is Cannibal Corpse, and there is a bunch of copycats. You know you can always count on this veteran metal act to deliver another brutal offering of extreme metal with each new release (in other words, zero chance of any needless stylistic experimentation — the lads like things just the way they are). And this especially rings true on their 2009 release, Evisceration Plague. All the expected elements of a solid Cannibal Corpse recording are present — metronome-like precision drumming, razor-sharp riffing, guttural growls akin to a caveman, and dark lyrics. Go ahead and take a pick of any of the tracks here ("Priests of Sodom," "To Decompose," the title track, etc.), and you're in for an intense metallic onslaught. Evisceration Plague shows that 11 studio releases into their career, Cannibal Corpse remain one gnarly group of metalheads.

Such as hell of brutal album
by Darktrooper2112I was listening to this album on my ipod, but I only had one earbud in. After a few songs my neck started to cramp up. This is most likely due to the sheer heaviness of the album unbalancing the weight of my head.
Hell of brutal.
Seriously though a solid slab of death metal goodness from some of the longtime players in the genre.
The same solid screams, grooving riffs, and blasting that Cannibal Corpse has been churning out for years.
I guess I'll have to start a flame war....
by Sigh..............This is Cannibal Corpse's most accessible album. There, I said it. Attack me if you wish, it's not going to change the album. While still being the tradition, brutal, shocking death metal band Corpse is, they widened their range a but on this one. Obviously, they haven't turned into Deam Theater, and tey're not going to anytime soon. But the guitars have a bit larger of a role on this one and sound far more melodic than usual. The song titles are a bit less offensive on this one too, for some reason...going from I C*m Blood to Carnivorous Swarm in the course of their barely changing existence is big.
Don't be mistaken, this is still one of the most brutal bands out there, but they just barely widened themselves a bit in this one. Personally, I think it's an improvement.
