iTunes Review

Heather Headley's credits include starring roles in The Lion King and Aïda on Broadway, as well as two well-received R&B albums, and her wealth of experience gives her latest project a high degree of finesse and polish. On another level, Headley seems like a brand-new artist here, approaching Audience of One with sincerity and a minimum of flash. “I Wish,” “Running Back to You,” and “Zion” are deeply reverent numbers delivered with slow-burning emotion and near-flawless vocal control. On acoustic-oriented pieces like “Simply Redeemed” and “Ordinary Me,” she achieves a warmly caressing sound with a slight ‘70s tinge. Headley adopts the air of a jazz chanteuse on “Jesus Is Love,” (a duet with gospel artist Smokie Norful), then digs deep into gospel traditions for a roof-shaking treatment of “I Know the Lord Will Make a Way.” While she often downplays her diva potential, the dramatic “Power of the Cross” gives her a chance to soar high. Audience of One suggests that Headley could make gospel music her regular home if she ever gets tired of secular musicals or urban pop.

SHE CAN SANG!!!
Heather's vocal delivery is flawless, the song choice is great, and this album is truly one of worship to the Lord.
Best tracks: all of them lol, but check out Simply Redeemed, Ordinary Me, Jesus is Love, the hymn medley, and the Power of the Cross

heather shows more of her wonderful versatility with this gospel album. The only reason I didn't give it a five star is there is no digital booklet. I didn't realize it until after I bought it. Shame on Itunes for not doing whatever they have to do in order for fans to get photos, thanks, wtiter and composing info. Will never buy an album if I can't get the digital booklet.

She continues to make great music.

After loving her first two albums to death I bought "Audience of One" on iTunes. Was I in for a treat! It is different than her first two albums because it isn't R&B or neo-soul. It's contemporary Gospel music with a little splash of R&B mixed in. If you're not Christian or don't believe in God this album may be a dissapointment for non-believing fans. I enjoyed this album and the only complaint I have is there are only ten songs. The great music makes up for it though. She still sounds great. Definately worth the price.
