Considering this was a good movie
by indie.rock.kid.This WAS a good thriller. You could probably call it realistic fiction. This SCARED me more than any horror flick could. Slick, sterile backdrops, methodical murder, and a bleak atmosphere mix to make a film that can make you question authority.
What supported the sterility of this movie was the partly electronic feel of its soundtrack. It thrilled, while settling into a nice synth groove. The balance kept the film in a giant centrifuge, maintaining stark bleakness while not boring the viewer.
Now, what could make this all better? The best kept secret from Muse fans: a composition written by the band's frontman, Matt Bellamy. I'll admit, even as a big, BIG Muse + orchestral music soundtrack fan, I could not tell who this was, nor did I care. I just thought it was a great soundtrack. I did, though, think I heard something familiar in the musical patterns and electronic edge of the soundtrack. Now, listening to that main theme, I just love this movie more. On the subject of Muse, this just fuels my desire to hear the long-desired Bellamy symphony titled "Exogenesis".
End Title
by FletchySounds a little like Muse's The Gallery, and it should sincd Matt wrote it and all. Looking forward to September!
Track 21 will have to do until the new MUSE!
by Kilgore TroutIf the end titles are any indication of what Muse's new "Symphonic Monster" will sound like, consider me pumped. For those not in the know, Matt Bellamy, brilliant songwriter/frontman for Muse, had a hand in composing the end titles for this movie. Great little piece.
