iTunes Review

Back in the ‘90s, England’s Prodigy were seen as the next wave of popular music. Leaders in the electronica movement, Prodigy threw together savage, manic uptempo beats and serious keyboard manipulation while raving maniacally about a world where the normal rules no longer applied. On paper, it sounded like the next logical step...except the group never really caught on as intended. While their cult grew to a sizable legion, it wasn’t enough to foster an entire movement or inspire fellow musicians to comply. In 2009, the group released Invaders Must Die, a solid emulation of everything Prodigy has ever stood for. From the first burbling moments of the title track (with an anti-immigration slant that seems like a gratuitous scorched-earth scenario) through the wide sonic expanse of the album’s closer “Stand Up,” Invaders scans like an encyclopedia of Prodigy riffs. “Thunder” channels different levels of warring keyboards and detached vocals. “Colours” crunches with violent rhythms and loopy, arpeggiated keyboard lines. “Warrior’s Dance” is less a military strike than a speed-fueled jiggle to the end of times.

Impressed

I'm not too much of a country or electronic listener but i'm really impressed with invaders must die especially the songs "Invaders Must Die" and "Omen" They live up to there electronic music but it's not exactly like it was in previous albums or songs such as Breathe, Spitfire, or Firestarter. I would recomend this for anyone who really likes music and is open to anything. Nice Work.

Does Prodigy ever come and not bring it?

Well, I gotta say, this is still kick a**!! I think The Fat of The Land was one of their best albums. Though after hearing Invaders Must Die, I'm hooked on The Prodigy again! I love how they snuck some of the older sounds into some of their new tracks here. I hope The Prodigy live on for many more decades - and newer albums would be great as well. They can't go anywhere but UP!

They are on of the key groups that inspire me to create electronic/hip-hop music tracks. Check me out here on iTunes - search for BizzyBeatz. I plan to have another album released in the coming months. Thank you Prodigy for your great talent and excellent music.

Biography

Formed: 1990 in Braintree, England

Genre: Electronic

Years Active: '90s, '00s

The Prodigy navigated the high-wire, balancing artistic merit and mainstream visibility with more flair than any electronica act of the 1990s. Ably defeating the image-unconscious attitude of most electronic artists in favor of a focus on nominal frontman Keith Flint, the group crossed over to the mainstream...
