no clocks, no calendars, no problem

took a few listenings to catch on, as well as a copy of the lyrics; nothing new for the FM though. Love it!

One of their better CDs

Floating Men fans are likely going to be very happy with this CD. It starts off with a strong track, The Sighing Hour Tree, that is quintessential Floating Men: layered melodies, eclectic influences, and Southern Gothic lyricism. The rest of the CD shows the Floaters wide ranging musical tastes, from primitive country blues to flamenco tinged rockers. The only true clunker is Better Do It All Now, a truly self-indulgent song that adds nothing to the CD except for those in on the joke.

Although No Clocks, No Calendars is on the whole a more consistent album than Pleasurado!, I think it lacks some of the big, haunting melodies of the Floaters previous effort. For newcomers to The Floating Men, I'd suggest starting with Song of The Wind in The Pines or Invoking Michealangelo to develop a baseline appreciation for The FM's work before graduating to some of the more heavily orchestrated newer music. You'll be rewarded with a world of moonlight and madness peeping through the Spanish Moss, populated by rascals coming to terms with their places in the world.

Just great
