iTunes Review

With his sophomore album, Terius Youngdell Nash, a.k.a. The-Dream, bridges the futuristic sound designs of Kanye West with the slow-jam balladry of his childhood heroes, Keith Sweat and R. Kelly. Like West, his most comparable contemporary, and his idol, Michael Jackson, The-Dream is a musical triple-threat: a singer, songwriter, and producer all rolled into his one. “Rockin’ That Sh**,” “Love Vs. Money,” and “Right Side of My Brain” meld the grandiose synthesizers of Kanye’s “Good Life” to the intricate sonic textures of Timbaland, and as with Timbaland’s best work, multiple listens reveal layers of subtle ornamentation, including bizarre sound effects and stuttering vocal samples. “Put It Down,” “Sweat It Out,” and “Mr. Fancy” update R. Kelly’s method of making lustful-yet-playful slow jams, while “Kelly’s 12 Play” is a more direct tribute to Kelly’s recipe. Of course, The-Dream’s taste for experimentation wouldn’t mean a thing if he didn’t have the knack for catchy melodies, as displayed in “Walkin’ On the Moon,” “My Love,” and “Take U Home 2 My Mama.” He has yet to reach the heights of Thriller, but Love Vs. Money confirms The-Dream’s reputation as one of modern pop’s masterminds.

Even though this CD has been out for 9 months, I still LOVE it. The Dreams unique style, soft voice combined with trend setting musical production is pure genius. I can listen to this CD front to back, but my clear favorite it Fancy.

Great Overall Album

Overall this is a great album... i would recommend anyone to buy this album because it is worth. But at the same time i wouldnt recommened you buy this album if you are looking "strictly" for R&B. This CD isn't truly R&B, it's a blend of different generes into 1. Thats what I love about this CD so much. It's different, and it brings something different to the table. Some people only gave this CD 1 star, and saids its crap. I just think that The Dream is to far ahead of time for them to comprehend. He has amazing production as well as lyrics, and I can listen to the whole CD without skipping a track. If you truly "love" music and you respect the sound of different instruments being put together to make one beautiful sound, then the track "Fancy" would be perfect for you to listen to. Like I said if you looking for strictly an R&B CD then dont buy this because this in not strictly R&B. If you want that then go and buy Ryan Leslie's CD "Transition", it's a great album.

I would have given it five stars but I took off one because though the music is great, he's not stepping outside of his own box as an artist. He's sort of "playing it safe" and he is delivering the same way he always does, and he is not trying to reach to be greater. Stepping outside of you own boundries is what makes a great artist, and that is another reason why Michael Jackson was so great. All his albums brought something different to the table. Anyway, overall great CD!

One of the best albums buy it trust me
