DOPE ALBUM, ONE OF FEW KEEPING THE STANDARDS HIGH

by GeeLocka

I've become very removed from the hip hop scene through the years thanks to watered down commercial trash that exhibits zero talent. I discovered MF DOOM a few years back, I had to let him grow on me, but when he did, I never looked back. He is easily the best emcee in my opinion, and i grew up on Rakim and KRS-ONE. I don't think anyone has more wit, better wordplay and rhyme patterns, or just plain outright talent than DOOM. This album didn't disappoint me one bit. Bump's Message and the outro don't get any play, but the beats and rhymes are all fire. reading other reviews i see complaints about him recycling beats, but he kills them all. i saw a complaint about him sending imposters to do shows. what does that have to do with the quality of the album? and many people have complained about Batty Boys being homophobic. he's the super villain calling superheroes sissies, and i think its really a statement about the fashion trends in rap that has so many people wearing extremely tight clothes. this isn't his best, but it is a prominent display of his greatness, worth every penny.

Dissapointing but still lyrically sick

If Itunes let me i would give it 3 1/2 stars but i was pretty dissapointed by his latest effort. While the lyrics were on point as usual the production was lacking compared to the beats he usually constructs. Plus most of the tracks were too short and i didn't hear one song that had a subject. I know he's usually too random for subjects but i was hoping for atleast one rap snitch knishes or deep fried frendz. oh well hopefully he comes back with some better stuff because this really wasn't up to the high standard i hold Doom in.

Weak!

Maybe for your next album, you can put some beats to the rhetoric!
