Music at it's best...
This band from Seattle exemplifies everything that music should be. Thoughtful lyrics, unique style, mixutre of types of songs, and so on and so forth. I have seen this band live and they are for real. They are every bit as good live as they are on the album. Their voices aren't altered or changed to sound better. These guys are legit. This is one of my favorite bands and one of the best albums out there. They already released Absolutes in 2007, but this new version has extra songs and is more complete as a whole. For anyone out there looking for a superb new band, by this album! You won't be disappointed!
Amazing Album.
I've listened to a lot of music in my time. It's not all that often that a band and their music reaches a hold of me deep inside like Barcelona has with this record, 'Absolutes'. I love this album.
I don't know anybody that has heard it and doesn't like it. It's very current and relevant now, but Barcelona has created a sound on this album that I think will be relevant years from now as well. I could compare it to bands like Coldplay or the Fray, which many do for obvious reasons, however, to me the sound Barcelona creates is truly unique to them. Brian Fennell's vocals are some of the best I've heard in quite some time, Rhett Stonelake is an amazing drummer, and Chris Bristol is a extremely gifted guitarist.
If you are lucky enough to have a chance to see Barcelona play Live, DO IT! They are unreal performers, and their passion and energy hit hard and their music reaches new heights.
This album is powerfully moving, and will intensely grip you on an emotional and deep level. I highly recommend buying it, you will be very glad you did.
