GO Wolverine!!!!

by Brutalkitty

This soundtrack had a mix of haunting and beautiful piano and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen action sequence. Best movie ever, one of my favorite movies and one of my favorite X-Men movies with The Last Stand. Wolverine is the most powerful and emotional character I had ever seen especially when he is heartbroken about his girlfriend's death when she was murdered by Victor and he became angry when he is leaving his former team due to Victor's violent actions in Nigeria. Rock on, Wolverine!!!!

Amazing Movie, but the Score's Even Better

So, before I start, I'll give you some background.
I'm a huge fan of scores. Scores dominate my iTunes library, for sure! In particular, I enjoy listening to Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight) and Danny Elfman (just about any Tim Burton movie, Spider Man). Not really Harry Gregson-Williams. Sure, I have Prince Caspian...but I wasn't a huge fan of HGW 'til now.

I saw Wolverine a week ago, and was stunned by the performances of Hugh Jackman and Taylor Kitsch (go Gambit!). But I was even more stunned by the performance of HGW.

The score's AMAZING! I bought Logan Meets Gambit first; I knew I liked that track from just hearing it in the movie. Well, it's the best track I've heard in a long time from any CD! Then, I bought Logan Through Time, which most surely deserves some sort of award. I'm going to buy Agent Zero Comes for Logan today, and quite possibly the whole album. It's, like I said before, AMAZING!

Here's a run-down:
1. Logan Through Time: plays during opening titles, with Logan and Victor fighting in wars. Wonderful piece, with great sweeping movements and nice, thick chords.
2.Special Priveleges: plays during the bit where Stryker confronts Logan and Victor and on the plane to Nigeria. Simple, yet strangely reminescent of Harvey Two-Face from The Dark Knight score.
3. Lagos, Nigeria: plays during the first few minutes of the Nigeria scene, where the "special team" of mutants goes to Nigeria with Stryker.
4. Wade Goes to Work: remember dear ol' Deadpool/Wade Wilson? Yep. Well, this plays when Wade is confronting the guy in the small village about the stone used to make adamantium. Also, this is the seen when Logan leaves the team.
5. Kayla: six years later, plays whenever Kayla (Logan's wife) is in the scene. It's the love theme, and it's very beautiful. Reminds me of the love theme from The Dark Knight, but this has it's own special twist. Very nice piano playing as well.
6. Victor Visits: plays when, well, Victor visits Scott Summers and also when he visits Logan. VERY much like Logan Meets Gambit. I suggest buying Logan Meets Gambit; it's a longer track.
7. Adamantium: plays when Logan is transformed by use of Adamantium; notice the Wolverine theme.
8. Agent Zero Comes for Logan: when Zero is chasing Logan after the incident with the farmers. Very action-packed!
9. Logan Meets Gambit: plays during the scene on Rue Bourbon (Bourbon Street) when Logan, well, meets Gambit (how accurately these tracks are named!). Very nice track; definetly my favorite!
10. To the Island: plays during the plane trip to Three Mile Island with Logan and Gambit. Also plays a bit when Logan reaches the island.
11. Deadpool: meet Deadpool. He's a meanie. :) Fairly good track, not my favorite.
12. The Towers Collapse: when I saw this track name, I thought Lord of the Rings had ended up here by mistake (isn't there a track on one of those scores called the Tower Collapses)! Okay track.
13. Memories Lost: plays when Logan loses his memories. Notice the repeat of the love theme from "Kayla".
14. "I'll Find My Own Way...": Very similar to Logan Through Time, but very good. Very good finale to the movie.

Overall, good score, good movie, good actors. :)

This track is the best-composed piece of mus that I have ever heard! I highly reccomend this soundtrack. The movie: not as much.
