iTunes Review

Absence is the debut full-length release from Paper Route, an ambitious Nashville-based electronic pop quartet. The band is aiming for a grand statement, and while they don't always hit that mark, there’s a lot here to absorb and enjoy. Overall, it sounds like they recorded acoustic instruments and then reassembled the pieces into new creations that are heavy on atmosphere and shimmering textures, with a good middle ground achieved between the synths and the electric guitar. The songs are lushly orchestrated and dynamic, with many samples, beats, and ambient sounds mixed into the whole. Arena-ready anthems like “Wish” and “Carousel” are set against cinematic tunes like “No Sudden Revelations” and “Lover’s Anthem” to give the album balance. Vocally, the harmonies are good with their moody melodies often delivered in an emotional and earnest falsetto. Fans of Snow Patrol, Coldplay, the Postal Service, and the like will easily fall for Paper Route’s brand of dramatic, dreamy electro pop.

Better later than never......Uniquely beautiful!

I saw this band last month open up for Paramore and was completely blown away. The album is a constant wave of ethereal sounds and layered harmonies. You can definitely hear the influences of Coldplay in Enemy Among Us and the subtle influence of trip-hop and electro in Gutter (which is my FAVORITE). Something's going on in Tennessee and whatever it is its completely BADASS!!

Paper Route's debut. A disc of perfection pulled from behind a curtain. I love this album and it truly is a work that is very under appreciated. I found out about them from Paramore. (Thank you Haley).

This ambient album soars from song to song..

Enemy Among Us- Lyrics, check. Music... amazing. One of the best. Love the piano and the 'both headphone effect'. 6/5

Wish- Wonderful! Lyrics are even better on this one. Great song. A little repetitive but can relate and love the guitar. 5/5

Carousel- This song is wonderful and wistful. The guitar is one of the best parts and the nostalgic-ness is even better. Lyrics are top notch, great single. Still seems like they could have mixed it up a little here. But great song and pulls me in deeper. 4.5./5

Good Intentions- Well here's a twist! This one's very good and the lyrics are poetic and beautiful. 'am i alone in this city of lights?' Great song. 5/5

Tiger Teeth- One of my favorites. Love the drums in this one. Another song that mixes it up a bit. Love the name and lyrics. Cool vibe. 5/5

Be Healed- retro! but it's a nice twist. probably the first big change. loveeee it. 5.5/5

Last Time- Somewhat like the twin of be healed. If you like on you'll like the other. Good song. The songs do blend a bit... But I love this album. 5/5

No Sudden Revelations- BIG twist. pretty song. :]] 4.5/5 (a little boring. but wonderful)

Gutter- ONE OF MY FAVORITES! The album is fully redeemed here. (Not that it needed to be.) 100.9/5 (Great lyrics, awesome vibe and music.)

Are We All Forgotten- one of the best. Great music, great vibe. AWESOME lyrics. Possibly one of the best songs ever. 100.9/5

Lover's Anthem- Little slow. But Good break and twist. Love it. Good song to the mix. 4.8/5

Dance On Our Graves- EPIC. beautiful. Nothing I can say. Ending is perfect. 100.8/9

Nice album, nice Christians, nice.

One of the best live bands ive ever seen or heard. These guys opened up for Paramore, along with the Swellers in Hollywood, and everyone was just in awe at how amazing this group was. Theyre a real unique band and have a really awesome sound. I highly suggest picking this up and seeing these guys in concert. I highly doubt you will be dissappointed.
