iTunes Review

Better Than Ezra were never leaders in their field, never trailblazers, but journeymen content to find the prettiness in their song craft, proving that while a complimentary chord change and a warm, sympathetic vocal can work wonders, it needn't always call attention to itself. “Just One Day” is an admirable mid-tempo number that’s just one of many highlights on their 2009 studio release. Unpretentious, mainstream rock has a tendency to offer its pleasures in subtle doses and Paper Empire has many easy to overlook moments hidden in its groove. Closer listening for instance reveals bright harmonies in “The Loveless,” “Black Light” and “All In.” This New Orleans combo will never be mistaken for brash, outspoken tastemakers, but their polite, modest ambitions surely have their place amongst those inspired by the jangly, tuneful alternative college radio rock of the ‘80s and ‘90s.

A Great New Band!

by PapiTheWriter

I happened upon these guys while I was taking a break at Walt Disney World in Orlando. I liked the music and bought it when I got back to my hotel and listened on the way home to Miami. I was really impressed with their style and their energy on stage. Just One Day is my favorite track but they are all good! Check them out!

The Loveless/Paper Empire

Great Album! All of their albums are solid. Blacklight is a little too pop, but songs like the Loveless and In Between Moments are great. Also worth noting: They are probably one of the best bands to see live in concert, it is always something different but definitely a great time. They sound just as good live as on their albums, it is amazing how good they sound live. KG's voice range is amazing and they know how to work the crowd. Definitely a must buy for fans of bands that don't need the studio to make them sound good.

Boring, Boring, Boring

Wow, a promising band takes a new direction... straight down the crapper. I can't even listen to this album. It is beyond dull. Better Than Ezra was once an exciting listen. This album proves that you can't always count on a band to keep things interesting. Sigh.
